Find - Part 2 - Franciere
Here are few more of the drawings that I picked up at a flea market. Artist goes by the pen name of Franciere. Pen on paper, 1960s to 1970s. Most appear to be self portraits. I think he was Vietnam vet. Most of the drawings have poetic - proclamations - statements written on them. He claims to have written a book called "Some Velvet Morning" published by Bantam books. I could find no record of it. This is one guy I'd love to have a conversation with.
And yes, if anyone is interested - they are for sale.
A fine flea market buy. 150 original large drawings - 1970s - Vietnam vet. Mostly self portraits. They have a graphic novel style to them. Artist used the pen name Franciere. Am working on getting more info on him. Fun, funky stuff.
In 2007 I attended 2 auctions. At each auction I bought work by Vivian Maier. Most of the material I currently own is in black and white. Today, I thought that I'd share some of her color work (from my collection). I think it's quite interesting.
Yep, that's me in the middle. Circa 1981 - with friends Wendy and Stoinker.
